Here you will find photographic logs of trips made in the past to various sites.  Please be aware that some images may be graphic-however, they are what the teams encountered and are, therefore, honest and true. We want you to see exactly what it is we do.  We offer them with both pride and humility. These are the hands and faces of the people who serve God by serving His peoples.

14 yr old Bone Tumor from Ghana 2008
Additional work will "fine tune" the appearance and function of the right eye and "fill in" the area of her temple.

Note displacement of Right eye downward, upper jaw and sinus is downward, skull is flattened on right side, lower jaw is also affected.
Tumor has displaced the eye well forward of the socket.
Surprisingly, she retained some vision in that eye and movement, although it was not coordinated with the other eye.
Note stretched skin over tumor.
Just prior to first surgery, April, 2008.
Prosthesis made to replace the bone removed when the tumor was removed.
Frontal view of prosthesis including eye socket.
After tumor removal and prior to prosthesis placement. It took approximately 20 hours of surgery to remove the tumor in 2 sessions 4 days apart. Then 10 days in ICU and a month on the floor.
This photo dramatically shows the extent to which the removal of bone went. There is literally nothing over her brain but skin at this point.
The eye is still functional, but does not have any "anchor" at this point.
Plastic surgery has begun with the placement of the prosthesis. Note the swelling.
There is less of a "crater" on the side of her face.
The eye now has a socket to hold it and the face has more definition.
Left side view is almost completely normal now. This photo is taken just prior to departure back home. She is to return for follow-up in approximately one year.
While there is still noticeable swelling about the eye and a flattening at the temple, the features are more even now than at presenting.
The right eye is at last beginning to be close to the level of the left eye.
Additional work will "fine tune" the appearance and function of the right eye and "fill in" the area of her temple.
A much improved appearance and a better future for a lovely young woman we learned to love while she was here. She wants to study to be a doctor!
