| Every organization needs it. Somebody has to pay to keep the power on and the postage paid. In our case, we have to pay for visas, various shipping taxes, customs fees, airport taxes, duties, drivers, and the list goes on. We have probably one of the smallest overheads in the world for an organization of this type ( <3%) , but we do need cash to keep going. If you are so inclined to be one of our "behind the scenes" supporters, we are a 501(c)(3) organization which makes your gift fully tax deductible for tax purposes. Mailing address is below. |

Since you are here, you are an internet user. So we'd like to invite you to use the GoodSearch.com service and specify us as your charity of choice. Whenever you search on the internet, money will be added to our account for each search you do. It's painless. Once a quarter, they will mail us a check. How simple can that be?
Also, if you shop online, and so many people do now, if you will go through this site (GoodShop), part of the money you spend will be credited to our account. Now how sweet it that? Some of the stores will credit up to 5%! Depending on the size of the purchase, that could mean a sizeable amount for us. Just a thought--since you're going to click anyway!
This is another idea--donate money to us via this organization in someone else's name. They get a gift card announcing that you have purchased a gift in their honor (birthday, wedding, bar mitzvah, etc.) and what that gift will do. You will know that it is something that cannot be "re-gifted" and that will be appreciated on both ends--the receiver of the card and the receiver of the actual gift. It's the best kind of gift for some people--the ones you have such a terrible time thinking of something new to get something for, for example! These are donations of what is known in the medical industry as "durable medical goods". In general, as long as it does not have an expiration date and it still works, we can use it. Wheelchairs (modified or not), walkers, crutches, manual beds (NOT electric), mattresses, orthopedic supplies (splints, boots, overshoes, slings, etc.), bandages, sutures, catheters, needles, gloves, lab equipment (ESPECIALLY microscopes!!), etc. We do have to be careful about electronic equipment--it does not handle shipping well and the recipients have a great deal of trouble with getting it serviced. The best bet is the simpler, the better.
Please call or email prior to shipping to us to be certain that we can use your donation and have room to store it until we can make arrangements to have it shipped to an appropriate destination. Of course, if you want to ship it directly, we'll be most happy to assist you with the arrangements!
